We use the (EDI) feed from Hachette’s own warehouse to automatically determine reprint orders from our distribution centre, bypassing administration and management time within the publisher’s production office.
This allows stock for multiple titles to be held in the pick-face rather than bulk storing them, minimising stock movement and increasing space in bulk store thus reducing warehouse costs.
Our central hub and handling of PO’s, regardless of print run, means all EDI orders can flow in to one hub whether the print run is PoD or longer. We also offer
advice or management services with regard to the Minimum Stock Level for auto-replenishment titles.
This model delivered significant savings to Hachette by reducing working capital, redundant stock as well as warehousing costs.
